Installed the Drupal Module "family" tonight. It may grow up to be something but right now the version I installed lacks the links to Father, Mother and Children that would make it useful. The demo site http://famhist.shawspace.com/ suggests they work.

After a brief investigation it is clear that the "asset" for a "family tree" is the underlying GEDCOM file. There is a Drupal project for embedding PHPGedView which looks promising. In the meantime GRAMPS works on your local machine and is cross-platform.
